One of the South West's largest and most anticipated design fairs is opening its doors on Friday to showcase the wealth of creative talent Cornwall has to offer.

Cornwall Design Fair will see more than 90 specially selected designers displaying their work throughout a maze of marquees, galleries and specially curated areas at Trereife House.

Each room in the historic house will showcase one-off contemporary design craftwork, ranging from jewellery to ceramics, furniture and classic art, giving visitors the opportunity to meet the designers while they shop for unique items.

Cornwall Design Fair director, Rob Lewis, said: “The exhibition strives to showcase the very best of Cornish design, as well as talent from the rest of the UK and further afield.”

There will be a wide range of activities available throughout the weekend, including demonstrations, workshops, performances and talks.

Furniture-maker Richard Buckingham will be showcasing his skills using hardwoods and other natural materials, while James Kerr and Tristan Kessell will be running their own forges and demonstrating basic blacksmithing.

Visitors can also join Cornwall College students and staff in a range of exciting workshops exploring design elements, materials, techniques and processes, focusing on textiles, printmaking and bookbinding.

Cornwall Design Fair will be at Trereife House, Penzance from Friday, September 16 to Sunday, September 18, from 10am to 5pm on Friday and Saturday, 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
