Pendennis Castle is hosting a traditional Cornish Christmas this year with a weekend of fireside tales, craft, singing and dancing.

The 16th century keep will be transformed into a seasonal setting for Cornish music, featuring the drums and bagpipes of Cornwall's early music and dance specialists PYBA, as well as carols and song led by Mabe Ladies Choir.

The staff at Pendennis will be wishing everyone "Nadelik Lowen" with mulled wine, mince pies and a variety of Cornish Christmas activities on offer throughout the weekend.

Visitors can learn how to assemble a 'Christmas bunch' from Cornish greenery, as well as being taught how to make pomanders, marzipan delights and Christmas cards. They will also learn how to celebrate the new year in Cornish style by 'lighting and chalking the block'.

Father Christmas will be taking up residence in the keep for the weekend in his traditional green attire to entertain visitors with folklore and traditions to complete the festive atmosphere.

Nadelik - A Cornish Christmas will be at Pendennis Castle on Saturday, December 3 and Sunday, December 4 from 11am to 4pm.

Standard admission charges apply.
