Explosive experiments, compelling tales and journeys through space and time are some of the attractions at the Eden Project’s WOW! Science Weekends being held this month.

Each of the events will be quirky, fun and packed full of exciting scientific discoveries for all the family.

The Far-out Forces weekend on January 14 & 15 will allow budding scientists to get hands-on with awesome activities and a measure of mayhem from Ministry of Science.

The Amazing Space weekend, which takes place the following weekend on January 21 & 22, explores the secrets of the universe with Universarama from the hugely-popular Squashbox Theatre.

Using silly puppets, ridiculous props and ludicrous wigs, Professor Johnson will take wannabe astronauts on a journey through the solar system to the edges of space and time.

The following weekend, on January 28 & 29, The Mighty Microbes weekend will welcome Horrible Science’s Nick Arnold to Eden to uncover the truth behind microscopic monsters.

Nick will present his special Super-Funny Microbes Show, based on the bestselling books - get ready for Horrible Fun, scary stories, queasy quizzes and evil experiments.

Mike Maunder, director of life sciences, said: “Wow weekends allow our children to interact with some of the UK's best science communicators and experience the thrill of science. We send the kids home not only happy but with a sense that science is deeply exciting and can be an important part of their futures.”
