A 'professor' with a PHD (Petroleum Hybrid Detritus) in quirky but beautiful jewellery will be bringing her laboratory to The Poly in Falmouth at the end of the month.

Professor Sparklylynne, who usually works out of the The Big Spotty Dog Studio, creates unique and bold pieces of jewellery which often include humour, with interesting titles and a story to tell.

The Poly will allow their Spring Gallery to be transformed into Professor Sparklylynnes' Laboratory of the Precious, where she will be resident conducting daily eco-experimentations, re-cycling, re-using, re-stringing and re-making previously bought, gifted or found materials, washed up plastic, children's discarded toys, odd things and beautiful beads.

She will also be holding workshops helping people turn their own treasures - broken and un-worn heirlooms, found objects and other items - into wearable pieces.

Sparklylynne, real name Lynne Speake, said: "The emphasis is on recycling and environmental awareness."

The exhibition will be in the Spring Gallery at The Poly from January 31 to February 11, and the workshops, or Clean Conscience Clinics, will run from 10am to 4pm on Jan 31 and February 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10, costing £30.

Workshop attendees will need to bring their own treasures and beads, while tea, cake, tools and jewellery findings will be provided.
