The Eden Project has released the first images from its forthcoming Solar System Safari exhibition, which will take visitors hundreds of millions of miles into space.
Staff at the attraction were busy earlier this week putting the finishing touches to the experience, which opened on Thursday and will give visitors the thrilling chance to experience each of the planets in the solar system.
Artist Lulu Butcher spent time arranging rocks on the surface of Mars, with a prototype of the ExoMars rover being developed by Airbus in the UK. Meanwhile Eden Project horticulturist Riyah Snow is finished of the finale of the tour – a lush tropical garden designed to represent the abundance of life on Earth.
Other highlights of the exhibition will be an enormous moving projection of the sun, a spectacular view of the gas giant Saturn viewed from an icy cave on its moon Enceladus, and the hazy blue tundra of Uranus.
The Solar System Safari is part of the Eden Project’s Journey into Space season, which runs until September 3. Journey into Space will see the attraction filled with space-themed fun, also including astronaut training and a chance to come face to face with an alien visitor.
