Following a busy summer, Rob Heron and the Tea Pad Orchestra have hit the road... and it has led to Cornwall.
Promoting their second album Talk About The Weather, which was released to much acclaim earlier this year, the group come to Miss Peapods, Penryn on Saturday and then to the Jacobs Ladder, Falmouth on Monday.
An intensive touring schedule, as well as a |diverse array of radio appearances, has |emphatically established the band as one of the most entertaining and hard |working bands on the roots circuit. The new album |covers a variety of musical styles offering up a healthy dose of upbeat ragtime |numbers, a couple of straight up country songs, a crooner, and a mambo.
The subject matter explored in their songs is a key part of the band’s |identity, encompassing such disparate topics as the great British weather (hence the title), coffee, the proposed HS2 rail network, arcade gambling, rogue landlords and kitchen utensils.
