Over 100 singers and musicians will be showing that Friday night really is “music night” at the Guildhall in St Ives on Friday, June 23.
The 45 piece West Cornwall Concert Band, directed by Jackie Harding, will be joining forces with well known choir Local Vocalz conducted by Neil Shepherd, for a lively programme of music to suit all tastes.
Entitled Friday Night is Music Night, the programme includes light classics, swing, jazz, show tunes and TV themes. There will also be selections from modern musicals including music from Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat, The Lion King and Les Miserables.
The concert begins at 7.30pm and there will be a bar, provided by the Friends of the Guildhall.
Choir conductor Neil said: "We hope that somewhere in the programme will be something to appeal to everyone’s musical palate. Both the band and choir consist of musicians and singers drawn from throughout West Cornwall – come along and support some of your local musicians and singers.”
Tickets for the concert cost only £5 if booked in advance or £6 at the door. They can be booked at the St Ives Guildhall visitor information centre, from other Cornish tourist information centres, on-line at crbo.co.uk or by calling 01726 879500.
