Sam Fender, one of the most hotly tipped UK acts, will return to the South West and will headline the B-Side presents night at the Old Bakery in Truro on Saturday May 12.

His previous shows were originally scheduled for February, but he had to cancel due to severe weather.

Australian Singer/Songwriter Hein Cooper will be joining Sam for both shows.

Hein is no stranger to Cornwall, having lived here for the last six months living here and writing new material for his anticipated second album.

He also played Boardmasters and featured in their official after movie which reached over 330 thousand views on Facebook.

He will also be performing at the first ever Boardmasters surf camp in France this July.

Hein’s debut album, The Art of Escape, premiered in 2016, and found success in Australia, with three singles on Triple J including Rusty, which was streamed over eight million times on Spotify, leading to a highly successful international campaign where he performed over 140 in 18 months throughout Australia, Europe, the US, Canada, and the UK, both as a headliner and supporting artists like James Bay and Lukas Graham.

The first single from his new album is called Hear My Voice and is a song about falsehoods and self-constructed identities.

The single was co-produced by Will Hicks, who also produced Ed Sheeran’s Perfect, and Hein himself also played a part in the production process.

The foundations of Hein’s folk/indie pop styles are still present on the new material, but the songwriter has branched out from his roots and begun to explore new genres such as RnB and electronic music, inspired by artists such as Frank Ocean and Chet Faker.

His new single was released on April 5 and racked up more than 100 thousand streams on Spotify in just the first few days.

Hein is excited about performing tracks from the new album due for release later this year and supporting one of the UKs hottest names.

Sam Fender’s debut single Play God was released in March 2017 and he was hailed as one of Annie Mac’s New Names on Radio 1. His first four singles have found success and gained Track of the Week accolades on streaming services. A hometown show at The Cluny in Newcastle sold out in a matter of seconds as he celebrated his single Millenial.

The show will be on Saturday May 12 at the Old Bakery in Truro and doors will open at 7:30. Tickets start from £11 and are available at seetickets.com.
