The Great Estate festival at Scorrier House near Redruth promises to be "the most rambunctious garden féte".

The eclectic three day festival is set in the gardens of an old country house built in 1778 by John Williams the 3rd, a mining magnate.

A delightfully quirky lineup of entertainment and activities is on offer for those attending the festival.

Indie rockers The Charlatans are perhaps the biggest name to be playing the festival, and will play the 'stage on the green' on Saturday June 2.

A good selection of local artists will also be hitting the stage, with Casio rappers Hedluv + Passman performing at 'Madame Wong's House of Wrong' on Sunday June 3.

Eighteen year old St Ives based singer songwriter Bailey Tomkinson is finding success on the festival circuit this summer and will play at The Great Estate on Friday June 1 on the BBC Introducing stage.

Not content with being just like any other music festival, the organisers have put together a medley of weird and wonderful activities to enjoy as well.

On Saturday afternoon in front of Scorrier House, the 'Knights of Arkley' will battle it out on horseback and in full armour in a real life jousting contest that will make festival goers wonder if they really have been spending their weekend in some sort of medieval time warp.

An ambitious attempt to break the record for the world's biggest cream tea party will take place on Sunday June 3rd at 2:30pm, with proceeds being donated to the Cornwall Air Ambulance.

There will also be woodland hot tubs for hire, a wild wine club in a secret location, a vintage fair and much more.
