The Poly, Falmouth, is opening a new contemporary craft and design shop, The Poly Guild, on Friday, August 28 and organisers have instructed artists interested in having their work on display to apply through The Poly's website.

The Guild will be stocking a range of beautifully made work from artists and craftspeople who live locally or who studied at Falmouth University. Work will include jewellery, ceramics, prints, glass and 3D work, exclusively available in Falmouth through the Poly Guild, making its range truly local and distinctive.

One of the artists who will be featured in The Guild is ceramicist Leah Jensen, who combines meticulously hand carved porcelain with turned, burnt wood to create a series of vessels. Leah expressing how delighted she is to have her work selected for the new Poly Guild shop said: “I’m so pleased to have this chance to show my work in Falmouth, the place where I developed my practice and my ideas.”

Jane Smith, the Poly Trustee, who has been leading this initiative said, “There are so many talented designers and crafts-people on our doorstep. We want to create a platform for their work, right in the centre of Falmouth.”

The Guild will be launch will start at 5.00 and will continue to 9.00pm.
