There are a few tickets left for Penryn's Picture House second food and film night, which will take place this Thursday and the environmental awareness film Damnation will be on the screen.
This is a powerful film odyssey across America exploring the sea change in the national attitude from pride in big dams as engineering wonders to the growing awareness that America's own future is bound to the life and health of our rivers.
DamNation's majestic cinematography and unexpected discoveries move through rivers and landscapes altered by dams, but also through a metamorphosis in values.
Locally sourced and organic food will be served by Shellfish pig, there are a choice of three dishes:
A. Slow Cooked Primrose Herd Smoked Pulled Pork in a Cornish Rattler & Maple Glaze. Served in a Baker Tom Brioche Roll with Emmental Cheese, Sweet Pickle & Crackling. Served with a side of Roasted Garlic & Apple Slaw and Balsamic Mixed Leaves. £6.50
B. Fresh Line Caught Cornish Mackerel Fillet Seared in Lime & Butter. Served in a Baker Tom Roll with Balsamic Pickled Beetroot & Horseradish Cream. Served with a side of Roasted Garlic & Apple Slaw and Balsamic Mixed Leaves. £5.50
C. Seared Halloumi Cheese and Tarragon Buttered Portobello Mushrooms in a Baker Tom Roll. Served with a side of Roasted Garlic & Apple Slaw and Balsamic Mixed Leaves. £4.50
