Cornwall horror film festival is taking place this year on Halloween at Falmouth's Poly where the running theme will be 'Freak-Show'.

There are 21 short films in the line-up which have been chosen for their ability to hold audiences in suspense.

Some of the films feature familiar faces, The Prey, for example, directed by James Webber features James Alexandrou (Martin Fowler from Eastenders) and Rebecca Van Cleave (Games of Thrones).

While cult horror stars Eileen Dietz (The Exorcist), John Franklin (Children of the Corn), Tamara Glynn (Halloween), and Leslie Easterbrook (Police Academy and Halloween), will also be on the screen.

This is the second year the festival, organised by Geoff Robe, Tony Railton and Amy Piner, has run. Last year it was at The Pheonix, Falmouth, with theme there being haunted house.

Geoff said: “There were no horror specific film festivals in the South West and we wanted to bring one into the area.”

The vote on the best film will be left open to the audiences and prizes will be given for first, second and third place. The organisers, who are themselves film makers, will award an organisers choice award.

There are options for dress up with prizes being awarded to best fancy dress.
