Poldark star, Robin Ellis, will be signing copies of his new cooking book at Waterstones in Truro.

Best known for his role as Captain Ross Poldark in the original BBC classic series, Robin returned to play a cameo in the recent hit adaptation of Poldark and will be returning for the second series this year.

Aside from his acting career, Robin has always had a passion for cooking. Following a diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes in 1999, he researched the best way of eating for his condition and settled on a low-carb Mediterranean diet, which he has combined with daily walks to help control his condition successfully ever since.

His book, Mediterranean Cooking for Diabetics, is written especially for those diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, or those at risk of developing it.

Actor, Sir Derek Jacobi, said: "While not suffering from diabetes myself, I can highly recommend Robin’s delicious recipes, some of his I have had the pleasure of sampling at his table in France. The recipes have all the richness of classical Mediterranean cooking."

Robin will be signing copies of his book at Waterstones, Truro on Saturday, March 12 at 11am.
