A diverse range of photographs and videos that represent the future of Cornish talent are to be showcased at the Labor Ipse Voluptas exhibition in Truro.
Translated from Latin as "working hard is its own please", the week-long exhibition will take place at the Lander Gallery from June 6 to 11. The show represents the culmination of Truro and Penwith College’s photography and digital imaging students’ final year work.
An eclectic range of styles and approaches to the students’ studies are revealed in the images and videos. Many of the images are striking and include an in-depth look at Cornwall’s Muslim culture, beautiful seascapes taken with an underwater camera and even a fashion shoot involving mermaids and fairies.
Marcus Way, who runs the photography and digital imaging programme at the college, said: “The lecturers are really thrilled to see the quality and diversity of photography on show this year that represents the hard work of a talented group of students.”
Many of the students will continue their studies by undertaking the popular BA applied media course at Truro and Penwith College or the BA photography course at Plymouth University.
