Penryn Picture House is hosting an evening of Indian-themed film, food and music on Thursday, with a screening of the Indian comedy-drama, Queen.

The evening, which is split into three parts, will begin with a dinner of Indian food, made fresh by the cooks at Maha Masala Spice Company. The meal will be accompanied with live music from talented local singer songwriter, Phillip Boettcherr.

The second part of the evening features a screening of Queen, an Indian comedy-drama about a young Punjabi girl who embarks on her honeymoon to Paris and Amsterdam by herself after her fiancé calls off their wedding.

The film, which was released in 2014, has won several awards at both the 60th Filmfare Awards ceremony and the 62nd National Film Awards ceremony.

Philipp Boettcher will then be playing more live music after the film screening for the final part of the evening at Number 20 Bar in Penryn.

The themed evening will take place at The Temperance Hall in Penryn on Thursday, July 14. The first part of the evening will run from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, followed by film shorts by Falmouth University animation students from 7.45pm to 8pm, and then the film screening will take place from 8pm to 10.30pm. Drinks and music at Number 20 Bar will then run from 10.30pm.
