BBC 6 Music's resident poet is touring Cornwall performing material from his new hardback book collection, How Freakin' Zeitgeist are you?

Murray Lachlan Young is taking to the stage throughout the county with his new live up-close and personal show, much of which was inspired by the years he spent living in West Cornwall.

Murray said: “I lived in Cornwall for nearly a decade. It is not for the faint hearted. I left a better person. I return with a better sat nav. Though I will never be Cornish, as a person half-English and half-Scottish, it may be the closest I will ever come to home.

“I'll never say I truly know Cornwall or the Cornish, but I do know it’s impolite to pee in a borrowed wet-suit.”

Murray's show overflows with flamboyance, punchy wit, brooding subtext and empathetic humour.

An Evening with Murray Lachlan Young will be at Mylor Theatre, Truro College on Tuesday, October 11 at 7.30pm; then at The Poly, Falmouth on Wednesday, October 12 at 8pm, followed by The Acorn, Penzance on Thursday, October 13 and Friday, October 14, both at 8pm.
