Gentle giants of the Cornish waters are the focus point of an illustrated talk organised by Helford Marine Conservation Group this weekend.

Dr Matt Witt will be looking at the lives of basking sharks in the talk, which is entitled Tag Tails - Learning about our basking sharks.

Using information from state of the art satellite tracking, Dr Witt will be discussing the annual migrations and seasonal behaviour of the sharks who come to Cornish waters, while considering how this information can help in their conservation.

Tag Tails - Learning about our basking sharks will be held at Mawnan Smith Memorial Hall on Saturday, November 12 at 7.30pm.

Admission to the event, which is organised by the Helford Marine Conservation Group costs £3, with free entry for members and children.
