Poetry-lovers are in for a treat this weekend when some of the UK's most celebrated poets join the line-up for the second Cornwall Contemporary Poetry Festival.

The festival will feature readings, workshops and discussions, as well as a poetry slam and a display of poems by local schoolchildren.

Poets reading at the festival will include Pascale Petit, Meirion Jordan, Jane Yeh, Steve Ely and Alison Brackenbury.

Internationally acclaimed Falmouth-based poet, Penelope Shuttle, will also be reading at the festival, where she will launch her new book, Heath, which is co-authored with the multiple award-winning poet, John Greening.

In the days leading up to the festival there will be a number of fringe events, including a poetry slam, with the multi-talented poet, screenwriter and performer, Molly Naylor as MC. This will take place at Falmouth Watersports Centre on Friday, November 11 at 8.30pm.

The Poetry Postie (Sally Crabtree), who has wowed audiences around the world with the surprising content of her poetic postbag, will be giving a free public performance on The Moor on Saturday, November 12 at 10am.

This year's Cornwall Contemporary Poetry Festival, which is partnered by Falmouth University's School of Writing & Journalism, will take place in Falmouth on Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13.

Ticket prices range from £15 for one day, to £30 for the full weekend, and are available online at cornwallcontemporary.wordpress.com.
