Truro City of Lights parade is taking place on Wednesday, November 23 thanks to emergency financial support from Truro City Council and Totally Truro BID.

Claire Eason-Bassett, project and event manager, commented that "the event couldn't happen without their generous support," adding that a campaign has been launched encouraging everybody to give generously to support the event and ensure it continues to happen in the future.

Celebrating its 20th year, this community event has been on a rollercoaster of funding hurdles and organisers are asking spectators on the evening to please look out for the donations buckets, and spare some change if they can.

This year's theme is 'Tell Me a Story', which is an open brief to encourage the imagination of the artists in residence, school children and college students. It coincidentally falls within the year that celebrates 100 years since the birth of Roald Dahl.

The parade will begin at 7pm and will be taking the same route as last year. More information is available online at cityoflights.org.uk.

Anyone wishing to donate to support next year's event to go ahead can text COLT16 £2 to 70070 to donate £2.
