Plans are well under way for the switch-on of Mylor's Christmas Lights, which will take place on Monday, December 5.

The switch-on events will start at 6pm with Santa in his sleigh giving sweets to village children outside the newsagents. The procession will then move on to the Lemon Arms car park, where the guest of honour who will be confirmed soon, will switch on the lights.

This will be followed by the customary community carol singing led by Pendennis Brass and Treverva Choir with the children from Mylor School.

Everyone is then invited to retire to Tremayne Hall for refreshments and the grand Christmas draw, for which tickets are on sale in many places around the village.

To ensure the safety of all those taking part in the festivities, the main road through Mylor will be closed from 6pm to 8.30pm with approval from the council.
