Renowned entertainers, Scary Little Girls (SLG), will be treating Penzance to a whole host of shows this festive season- from interactive storytelling walks to intimate evenings of song.

The calendar of seasonal events begins on Thursday, December 8, with a Yuletide Hootenanny. Led by two of the county’s best loved performers, guests can join in with their favourite Christmas songs, both traditional Cornish and pop classics, watch Cornish dance, and maybe even play a festive game or two. To make things especially festive, there will be delicious mulled wine available, too.

December also sees the much-anticipated return of SLG’s, It’s Your Round. An alternative to tedious office Christmas parties, this pub quiz, with a cabaret twist, sees teams compete across a series of rounds, both conventional and otherwise. And, of course, it wouldn’t be much of a pub quiz without a variety of beverages available.

The series of seasonal treats continues with Warm Hearths and Frosty Shores, an interactive walk. Guests will set off in small groups along a specially prepared route through the town, encountering performers hidden along the way. Through music, performances, and readings from Cornish literature, the towns secret stories will be revealed.

Fancy an adventure? From December 27 to 30, children aged ten and under will love Duffy Beats the Devil Christmas Wander, in which they will explore the many floors of The Acorn, encountering a host of colourful characters along the way.

Rebecca Mordan, artistic director of Scary Little Girls, said: “Amid the cold weather and dark days, what could be better food for the soul than some good quality, heartwarming entertainment. With something for the whole family to enjoy, the Acorn Theatre is the place to be this December.”
