Families are invited to explore hidden trails of the Trelissick estate in an exciting night run event.

The National Trust is working with Cotswold Outdoor to create the event and all of the money raised helps support the National Trust’s work caring for special places for future generations.

Runners can choose either a family-friendly explorer route of 3km, which is suitable for all ages, or a more challenging adventurer route of 6.75km, suitable for those aged over 12.

Alice Barker, outdoor activities development officer for the National Trust in West Cornwall, said: "Trelissick is a special place to visit, but seeing it with a group of friends in torchlight is even more magical. Everyone’s welcome to take part and embrace the fun with fancy dress and glow-in-the-dark face paints and glow sticks. Our enthusiastic team of marshals will be encouraging you on around the course."

The Night Run events are taking place at 16 National Trust places in England this winter.

James Dumas, partnership director at Cotswold Outdoor, said: "We’re very excited to be working with the National Trust on the Night Run series for a second year. At Cotswold Outdoor many of us are passionate runners, so we’re proud to be able to offer members real-life advice - not just what’s on the label."

The Night Run at Trelissick will take place on Saturday, January 28. Registration opens at 3.40pm and the running events start from 5.40pm.

Participants must bring their own head torches.
