A renowned acoustic guitarist and songwriter will be playing in Falmouth, as part of a UK tour to support their new album, Static in the Wires.

Martin Harley will be joined by bass player Daniel Kimbro when he comes to Falmouth to play at Princess Pavillion on Friday, March 24.

Described as a "supremely talented acoustic roots and blues guitarist, singer and songwriter", Martin will be touring across the whole of the UK to publicise the new album.

Static in the Wires is Martin's seventh album, and has received rave reviews from Blues in Britain, Acoustic Magazine and Total Guitar.

Martin and Daniel first met through a mutual friend, Sam Lewis, at Hippie Jack’s music festival in Crawford Tennessee.

After a brief backstage rehearsal the two took to the stage for an hour of largely improvised music, and a few weeks later recorded their first record.

Guests on the album include award winner Jerry Douglas, Derek Mixon and Micah Hulsher.

During the show Martin will be playing a 100-year-old Weissenborn, a Hawaiian acoustic lap guitar, while Daniel beats, scratches and bows a double bass to create an "unexpected array of textures and sounds."
