Bioblitz returns to Penryn at the start of May, when visitors can join staff and students for some summer garden fun and a day of nature activities.

This year the team is working alongside the Penryn Garden Fete to create a day of wildlife spotting, summer games, fayre stalls and interactive activities.

The free event is open to all ages, with activities including spider spotting, pond dipping, moth trapping, bug hunting, mammal trapping, plant spotting, bat walks and garden games.

There will also be a raffle with amazing prizes, the chance to make your own wildlife at the arts and craft stalls, get competitive in the summer games, get your face painted, and have a jump on the bouncy castle.

Wildlife and charity organisations from all over Cornwall will be attending with loads of exciting stalls, activities and opportunities, and food and drink will be available from a range of local suppliers.

Bioblitz is on Saturday, May 6, from 10am to 4pm at the Penryn Campus.

Although the event is free, it is advised to sign up for early morning or late evening events such as bird ringing from 7.30 to 9.30am and bat walks from 8 to 10pm by emailing bioblitz.penryn@gmail.com
