A three-day event focusing on social, political and environmental issues, through the mediums of music, poetry, debates and film, will take place at Holifield Farm near Gweek.
The Roots gathering will take place between Friday and Sunday, September 15 and 17, and will host a variety of bands, speakers, workshops, films and activities for all the family.
Rob West, the founder of the Holifield Farm project, said, “We normally host a festival every year on our site, but we feel its important to create an event that gives our community a voice. We want to give a platform to people and organisations doing important work and raise awareness around various issues.”
It’s important we consider the way we live, learn about the positive choices we can make and celebrate all of the good work we are doing collectively.”
The farm hosts a school of outdoor education, supports adults with additional learning needs through their day centre, as well as housing a community of residents who all contribute to the project.
The organisers have said Roots is finding a growing interest from the public, who are increasingly expressing a wish to live more sustainably, and is an opportunity to share ideas, experiences and laughter.
Holifield are recruiting stewards for the event, offering a camping ticket and a meal.
