Cornwall's first 24 hour licence has been granted to the Masked Ball, which will be held in Porthleven from Friday, May 25 to Sunday 27.

Instead of returning to their tents at sunrise like in previous years, festival goers will be able to party throughout Saturday night and into Sunday, with music being played all night.

Masked Ball director Kelvin Batt said: “Being on the Masked Ball dancefloor when the sun begins to rise is a special feeling… that moment when night becomes day and light cracks over the horizon and steadily floods the sky with a life-giving glow is hard to beat.”

Unfortunately for those in attendance, the Friday night of the festival will run as usual with music being shut off at 2am, but the serious revellers won't be disappointed by Saturday's all night session.

The event is being held on the cliffs of Porthleven, offering a medley of different venues and attractions complimented by the stunning ocean view.

From humble beginnings back in 2007 when director Kelvin Batt organised a party with his friends whilst working at a chip shop, the festival has grown to become one of the best known events in the region.

The hugely popular Underworld from 2017 will return to recreate a selection of 'micro-clubs' based on everything from Manhattan speakeasies from the 1930s to Brixton squats from the 1980s.

Also, in typical Masked Ball fashion, the organisers have planned a few secret venues that will only be revealed on the day.
