A new weekly jam night is to start next week at Toast, allowing musicians to meet, perform, and arrange new songs in front of an audience.

The Jam Rock and Folk night will make good use of the venue's recently renovated performance room and new sound system, and offers a welcome platform for musicians to get involved and play to a crowd.

Musicians in Falmouth are sure to be pleased about this latest development in the area's music scene, which already hosts a range of open mic nights including Wednesdays and Sundays at the Jacob's Ladder Inn, and Sundays at Number 20, Penryn.

The group's organiser is long standing musician, Russell Gibson, who lives in Falmouth and over his musical career has toured extensively with bands and performs his own songs regularly in Cornish venues, jamming with the best musicians from the area.

The core group of musicians already plays together at Oddfellows on a Monday, and is made up of Russell Gibson, Charlie Sherratt, Dixie Van Horne, Matt Knight, and Cally Gibson.

The event will start on Tuesday 14th March at Toast from 8pm and is free entry for both participants and listeners.
