Top singer-songwriter Ben Howard is the latest big name announcement for the 2018 Eden Sessions.

Along with his sprawling six-piece band, BRIT Award-winner Ben will play the home of the famous Biomes on Saturday June 30, three years after his last sold-out performance at Eden when he was hailed as the region’s returning hero.

The announcement today co-incides with the release of A Boat To An Island On the Wall, taken from Ben’s forthcoming album Noonday Dream, to be released on June 1, 2018, via Island Records.

A Boat To An Island On The Wall is the first new music that Ben and his band have shared since the release of his number one charting second album, I Forget Where We Were, in October 2014.

Noonday Dream was recorded in numerous studios between South West France and South West England, including Sawmills Studio in Cornwall. It was produced by Ben.

A Boat To An Island On The Wall is a typically uncompromising, richly textured epic of an introduction to Ben’s next body of work.

The transformation and development in Ben’s writing from his hugely successful debut LP back in 2011, to the immersive darkness of 2014’s I Forget Where We Were, and now on the cusp of another new sonic phase in Noonday Dream, could and should cement his status as one of the UK’s most gifted and unpredictable of artists.

Eden’s marketing director Rita Broe said today: “Ben has a massive fan base in this part of the world and he is back headlining the Sessions by popular demand. Adding his acclaimed talent to an already stellar Sessions line-up means we are heading into our best season yet.”

Ben grew up near Totnes in Devon. While studying in Cornwall at Falmouth University he decided to concentrate full-time on making music, honing his craft in and around the town.

In 2013, Ben won both the British Breakthrough Act and British Male Solo Artist categories at the BRIT Awards.

Ben’s return to Eden in June will be his third year appearing there. Prior to his headline appearance in 2015, he played slots on the outside stages in 2010.

Ben Howard joins Gary Barlow (June 6 – SOLD OUT), Massive Attack and Young Fathers (June 15 and June 16 – SOLD OUT), A Beautiful Day Out at Eden featuring Levellers, New Model Army, Reef, Dreadzone and Ginger Wildheart (June 23 -TICKETS AVAILABLE), Queens of the Stone Age (July 3 – SOLD OUT), Jack Johnson (July 5 – SOLD OUT) and Björk (July 7 – SOLD OUT) on the bill for the 2018 Eden Sessions.

The Eden Sessions are in their 17th year. Last summer saw Bastille, Madness, Royal Blood, Blondie, Van Morrison, Bryan Adams and Foals carry on the great tradition of bringing top UK and international acts to Eden.

The Eden Sessions has its own free-to-view online TV channel (www.youtube.com/edensessionstv) featuring regularly-updated videos of some of the gigs' finest shows.

Tickets to the Ben Howard Eden Session cost £40 and £5 booking fee and are on sale to members of the Inside Track club now until 5pm on Tuesday April 10. Tickets go on general sale at 5pm on Friday April 13 through www.edensessions.com.
