The fourth annual Merlin Fun Run will take place at the Trelissick Gardens to raise money for the Merlin MS Centre.

The National Trust garden will open its parkland for runners of all ages to take part in either the 1.5k or 3k runs, with entry fees and sponsorship raised going towards the Merlin MS Centre.

Lucy Chappell, Community Fundraiser said: “We are incredibly grateful and really excited to be working in association with National Trust Trelissick for the fourth year running. We have already had some amazing support for the event including from our sponsors Biffa and Chris Nicholls Motors.

“This year we are able to take bookings online and hope this will encourage even more runners to take part in this year’s event.”

The runs will start in front of Trelissick House amongst acres of beautiful parkland, and the course will go through ancient oaks whilst runners can enjoy picturesque views of the Fal estuary.

Although they are mainly aimed at families, the fun runs are open to anyone who wants to have a go.

Every runner will receive a medal and goody bag for taking part, and ridiculous get-ups can be expected as there are prizes for the best fancy dress, as well as the runner who raises the most sponsorship money for charity.

The Merlin MS Centre is a charity located in mid-Cornwall that aims to provide subsidised therapy for people with Multiple Sclerosis as well as other neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s, Cerebral Palsy, Stroke, ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
