The sights and sounds of the Grand Medieval Joust return to Pendennis Castle in Falmouth over the next few weeks.
Visitors can take a trip back in time to experience the sights, sounds and entertainments of an authentic medieval celebration.
The stars of the show are four of the country’s best competing knights who will do battle in live action shows throughout the day. Wearing the colours of their region – north, south, east and west – the armour clad knights will compete to prove their superior power and chivalry.
There’s just one aim which is to break your lance upon the opponent’s body, with maximum points for a strike to the head.
This thrilling display of no-holds-barred medieval combat is truly the sport of kings.
Medieval merrymakers will have the chance to meet the knights before choosing their champion and discover the secrets of their armour and weaponry.
Inspired by the fantastic fighting knights, would-be young challengers can compete in their very own battles and kids of all ages can have a go at archery. For the brave, the fearsome medieval executioner will share his most gruesome and gory stories - listen if you dare!
The Grand Medieval Joust is at Pendennis Castle on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout August.
