SPANISH-BORN Joe Lado Devesa has joined Gwel an Mor Resort as Executive Head Chef.

As a classically French-trained chef with influences from his Spanish heritage, Joe has taken the helm at the Terrace Restaurant, the Portreath-based luxury resort’s on-site bistro.

Joe brings with him over 20 years working for some of the country’s finest |establishments including Chewton Glen Hotel with one Michelin Star, alongside Jean-Christophe Novelli at Geddes Restaurant and as Head Chef for the Tate Modern in London.

Within Cornwall, Joe was executive head chef at the Penventon Hotel in Redruth for four years, where he organised last May’s Cornwall Asparagus Festival and cooked for Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.He also achieved a Rosette while working as a head chef at the Penmere Manor Hotel in Falmouth.
