Seasonal food, local ales and a full line-up of talented musicians will be presented at Truro’s Old Ale House on Friday, July 17 for their first food and music festival.

In what is a collaborative effort by The Old Ale House, Skinners Brewery and River Cottage, this festival has all the important things covered. The seasonal food dishes are based around the flavours of the local ales on tap and will be served against the character filled back-drop of the Old Ale House. Latin-funk rhythms will be played by Tumbao, and swamp boogie by The Hoodle.

Manager of The Old Ale House, Robin Lawson, said: “As well as Skinner’s ales on tap, we’ll also be welcoming a couple of local guest ales from independent brewers: Black Rock in Falmouth and Cornish Crown in Penzance. There’ll be seven ales in total to sample as well as four ciders from the Cornwall Cider Company.”

While Head Taster at Skinner’s Brewery, Steve Skinner, said: “The plan is to hold a series of three of these Food and Music Festivals throughout the year, in Summer, Winter and Spring. They’ll each mark and celebrate the changing of the seasons and the corresponding changing of our carefully planned menu to reflect food that’s currently in season.”
