Legendary rock and rollers Motörhead are announced today as the latest superstar headliners for the Eden Sessions 2015.

Motörhead will play on Saturday June 27 - and join Elton John (June 16 and 17 – sold out) and Ben Howard (July 17) on the bill for the 2015 Eden Sessions. More acts will be announced soon.

In what will be one of the most incredible nights in Eden Sessions history, Motörhead, led by irrepressible founder-member Lemmy, will be joined by special guests, fellow rock gods the Stranglers.

Coming out of the 1970s, Motörhead bridged the gap between rock and punk and their fellow rock legends the Stranglers rode the New Wave. Both of these amazing bands keep on winning whole armies of new young fans.

Eden’s marketing director Rita Broe said today: “We are thrilled beyond words to be able to announce a band that will rock the Biomes in a way the Sessions have never heard before. This is a totally unique show and our first-ever hard rock Session.

“Lemmy once said that if Motörhead moved in next door, your lawn will die. We’ll have to counsel the plants before he breaks into Ace of Spades. To have the Stranglers as special guests promises a loud, proud and never-to-be-forgotten Session.”

Since forming in 1975, Motörhead's ear-splitting fusion of rock, metal and punk has appealed to fans across the board, young and old. The band’s fast, heavy riffs earned them the reputation as the “world’s loudest rock band” and helped pave the way for the thrash and speed metal sub-genres.

Grammy-winners Motörhead have sold more than 20 million records worldwide. They are perhaps best known for their single Ace of Spades, an all-time rock classic, while the fanged face that appears on their album artwork has become one of rock's most recognisable icons. This Eden Session will be their first gig in Cornwall since 1983.

Lemmy lines up alongside Phil Campbell ( in Motörhead since 1984) and Mikkey Dee ( since 1992).

Special guests the Stranglers, one of the longest surviving acts of the punk era, have created a unique sound that also spans prog rock, pop, metal and jazz.

Over four decades, The Stranglers have had 17 UK top 40 albums and 23 UK top 40 singles, including classics such as Golden Brown, No More Heroes, Peaches, Always the Sun and Skin Deep.

The incredible musical virtuosity of the band members – Jean-Jacques Burnel (bass), Jet Black (drums), Dave Greenfield (keyboards) and Baz Warne (guitar) – has led them to be considered as one of the finest live groups in the country.

Jean-Jacques Burnel said: “We are really looking forward to our first Eden Sessions show. Lemmy and I go way back and it's always a great pleasure to play alongside Motörhead.”
