Celebrated Senegalese composer and praise singer Modou N’Diaye is playing at the Tolmen Centre on Sunday, October 11 with the Golden Kora Band.
Together they will be playing a unique blend of Afro Mandingue music.
Since his arrival to the UK in 2002, master kora player and drummer Modou has completed a national tour with Jalikunda Cissokho and performed in Spain, Norway, Sweden, Russia, France and Estonia.
Modou’s music has been in demand from the global film industry. Commissioned by Warner Brothers, his Djembe playing can be heard in the soundtrack of the blockbluster movie Blood Diamond and at the request of Bryan Elsley, his kora playing featured in a couple of episodes of the teenage cult series Skins between 2008 and 2009.
