Successful seventies band, 10cc have chosen Truro as the first stop on their UK tour, celebrating the 40th anniversary of their seminal album, 'Sheet Music'.

Released in 1974, 'Sheet Music' reached number nine in the UK album charts and included the band's top ten hit, The Wall Street Shuffle.

The current live band, which has been together for more than 10 years, features 10cc co-founder, Graham Gouldman on vocals, bass and guitar; Rick Fenn (lead guitar, vocals), Paul Burgess (drums, percussion), Mick Wilson (vocals, guitar, percussion) and Keith Hayman (keyboards, guitar, vocals). Rick and Paul have both worked with 10cc since the mid-seventies line-up.

Graham said: "Year on year we get busier and busier. It’s great, we love touring and playing together and we get on really well. The audiences these days are very gratifying. You get the people you would expect, who grew up with 10cc, but you also get young kids who know the songs too."

Each concert on the tour will include two sets by the band; the first half of the evening comprises of 'Sheet Music' in its entirety, with a pause for the symbolic turning of the vinyl. The second part of the concert will feature the band’s eleven top ten hits and more, including their three number one singles, I’m Not In Love, Dreadlock Holiday and Rubber Bullets.

10cc has sold more than 15 million albums in the UK and 30 million worldwide. The band's songs have also featured in various movie soundtracks, including Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, Guardians of the Galaxy and The Social Network.

The band, who have recently played at the Royal Albert Hall, British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park and the O2, London with Status Quo, will embark on their 26-date UK theatre tour, starting at the Hall for Cornwall on Friday, September 23.
