Choirs from across Cornwall are collaborating to perform two concerts this weekend.

Laudate Chamber Choir, Cornwall Community Choir, Falmouth Vocalz and Hayle Local Vocalz will be performing a concert together at St Mary's Church in Penzance and one at Falmouth Methodist church.

Both concerts will feature a wide range of music, including classical anthems and motets, folk songs, show tunes and other light hearted items. The choirs will be conducted by Neil Shepherd and accompanied by Richard Bailey.

The choirs have had a busy term, which has seen two weekend tours to France, a concert in Truro with a guest choir from Wiltshire and a large concert in Truro Cathedral.

The Penzance concert will take place on Friday, July 22 at 7.30pm, and the Falmouth concert will take place on Saturday, July 23 at 7.30pm.

Admission costs £5 on the door, and children enter for free. There will also be a raffle to support the work of Cornwall Hospice Care at each concert.

Laudate Chamber Choir will also be performing a lunchtime concert in Truro Cathedral on Saturday, July 23 at 1pm, with music including J S Bach, Handel, Faure and other composers. The choir will again be directed by Neil Shepherd and accompanied by Richard Bailey.

Admission to this concert is free and there will be a retiring collection to support the work of Truro Cathedral music department.
