Falmouth's members of the Cornwall Community Choir and the town's Local Vocalz choir are taking part in a special concert at the historic Gwennap Pit near St Day this Saturday, September 24, at 4pm.

Members of the public are invited to attend the concert which will include a wide range of music from classical to pop music and just about every other musical genre in between. The choirs will be conducted by Neil Shepherd and accompanied by Falmouth's Richard Bailey, who will also be playing some jazz piano solos.

Admission to the concert is free but there will be a retiring collection to cover expenses. If in the event of bad weather on the day and the concert needing to be postponed, an announcement will be made on the Cornwall Community Choir website and on local radio stations.

Members of the two choirs enjoyed a similar event at Gwennap Pit four years ago and are looking forward to the event immensely. Members of the public are advised to bring a cushion or a chair and suitable clothing in case of rain. There will be parking on a nearby farm.
