The 'Best Duo' award winners at BBC Radio 2's Folk Awards will be performing at Devoran Acoustic Sessions this Saturday.
Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin perform highly original thought provoking songs which are often based on some of the less obvious moments in history, combining twisting curling melodies and eclectic rhythms with perceptive lyrics.
Widely regarded as one of the best guitarists in the UK, Phillip studied in Calcutta with India's premier slide guitarist Debashish Bhattacharya, and is also a virtuoso on the harmonica with skills also beatboxing on the harmonica.
Singer-songwriter, Hannah is a skilled fiddler, viola and banjo player with a distinctive voice and a gift for turning traditional music into contemporary songs.
The duo have won various awards, including Best Folk Act in the 2012 South West Music Awards, Best Duo in the 2013 Spiral Awards, and Best Duo in the 2014 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin will be performing at Devoran Acoustic Sessions in Devoran village hall on Saturday, November 12 at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £13 and are available from the box office on 01872 262466, or online at hallforcornwall.co.uk.
Audience members are welcome to bring their own refreshments.
