Truro Three Arts are starting this year's programme of events with a piano recital by a multi-prize winning pianist.

Martin Cousin is regarded as one of the most exceptional pianists of his generation, having been awarded several prizes in international piano competitions.

Since graduating from the Royal College of Music and making his London solo debut at the Purcell Room in 1998, Martin has performed numerous solo recitals. His highlights of the last three seasons have included Rachmaninov's 2nd Concerto with the Philharmonia at Barbican Hall and Royal Festival Hall, Grieg's Concerto at Symphony Hall, Mozart's Concerto K488 at Royal Festival Hall and a solo recital at Wigmore Hall.

During his concert in Truro next Friday, Martin will perform an interesting and varied programme, starting with English Suite No. 6 in D minor by J.S. Bach, followed by Beethoven’s Sonata in C Op.2 No.3, dedicated to Joseph Haydn and often referred to as the composer's first virtuosic piano sonata. The recital will finish with Brahms’ Sonata in F minor Op.5.

The concert will take place in Mylor Theatre at Truro College on Friday, January 13 at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £20 and are available from the Hall for Cornwall box office on 01872 262466, or online at hallforcornwall.co.uk.

Tickets for students and children are free but a ticket must still be reserved in advance.
