Three of the original, Eurovision-winning, line-up of chart-toppers Bucks Fizz will be performing at the Regal Theatre in Redruth on Saturday, March 11.

Cheryl Baker, Mike Nolan and Jay Aston will be joined on stage by Bobby McVay when they belt out the hits that made Bucks Fizz famous.

It was in early in 1981 that four complete strangers sat in the drawing room of a house in Fulham and were told: “You are now Bucks Fizz.” In the eight weeks between that first meeting and appearing on A Song for Europe on March 11, 1981, Bucks Fizz were hurled into a melee of rehearsing, recording, styling, interviews and photography.

All that hard work and effort paid dividends as they went on to win the Song For Europe and then the Eurovision Song Contest, becoming household names around the world.

With over 20 singles released over the next few years including three number ones, My Camera Never Lies, Land Of Make Believe and of course, Making Your Mind Up, they sold in excess of 15 million records.

Last year the band celebrated 35 years since winning the Eurovision and they want all their fans to come along and celebrate the anniversary with them.

Cheryl said: “On this night at the Regal Theatre Redruth is the anniversary of Bucks Fizz winning song for Europe which saw them go through to represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest and win!”
