The full seven-piece Gypsy Hill band return to Falmouth’s Princess Pavilion on Saturday, February 25, and if you book between the 15th and 21st, you'll get a 25 per cent discount on the ticket price.
The band will bring their intoxicating mix of Balkan brass, Mediterranean surf rock, ska and swing to the theatre. Featuring guitars, horns, tuba, a scratch DJ and a mix of live and electronic beats, Gypsy Hill effortlessly mix the traditional with a uniquely modern sound.
Producers DJ Kobayashi and Herbert Newbert have taken the project from studio to stage, gradually growing the band and honing their high-energy live shows. Their burgeoning CV includes remixes for the likes of Balkan Beat Box and Al Jawala and a special feature on Ninja Tune’s acclaimed ‘Ninja Jamm’ app.
You can currently hear Gypsy Hill’s music featured in the award-winning circus show La Soirée with Captain Frodo on their global tour and have played alongside some of the greats including Taraf De Haidouks, Balkan Beat Box and Fanfare Ciocarlia.
The Pavilion is offering advance tickets at £7.50 for one week only, between February 15 and 21, so call 01326 211222 or book online at princesspavilion.co.uk. Outside of the special promotion they cost £10 in advance or £13 on the door.
