The Dante String Quartet, first founded in 1995, will be returning to Cornwall to close the Truro Three Arts season.

Due to take place at Mylor Theatre, Truro College on Friday, March 17, tickets are on sale now for £20 for the closing event.

In the past, the quarter have been honoured with the Royal Philharmonic Society Award for Chamber Music and have also received international awards for their recordings.

They are also featured regularly on Radio 3, and have appeared many times at London's Wigmore Hall and Kings Place.

The quartet is comprised of Krysia Osostowicz on violin, Oscar Perks on violin, Yuko Inoue on viola, and Richard Jenkinson on cello.

At the concert in Truro the group will play Quartet no 4 by Béla Bartók, Haydn’s Quartet in E minor and op 33 No 2, nicknamed The Joke, because the listener is fooled as to whether the piece has ended or not.

The concert will finish with Beethoven‘s Quartet No.13 in B flat major, considered one of the composer’s greatest achievements.

This will be the first time the group have played in Cornwall for ten years.

Tickets are on sale now, and can be purchased by calling 01872 562811, by emailing truro3arts@gmail.com, or direct from Hall for Cornwall on 01872 262466.
