A musician praised by renowned fantasy author Sir Terry Pratchett is due to play a concert in Falmouth with his new act, Gigspanner.
Legendary fiddle player and violinist Peter Knight is set to play at The Poly on March 25, alongside Roger Flack on guitar and Sacha Trochet on percussion.
The show is described as being 'unhindered by the limits of technical ability', as the trio dismantle traditional music and song and reassembling classics in a truly original way.
The captivating nature of their sets stems from their creative vision and the eclectic nature of the material chosen.
Last year Peter received Fatea Magazine's Instrumentalist of the Year award and Best Musician in the inaugural folking.com awards, as voted for by the public.
The late Sir Terry Pratchett once wrote: "Peter Knight can spin the world on his Bow."
Gigspanner will be playing at The Poly as part of their February and March UK tour, and will begin at 7.30pm.
Following a previous concert Folk Radio UK wrote: "Gigspanner has taken traditional tunes as a starting point and rearranged, orchestrated and improvised around them to create fascinating new works.
"Their increasingly impressive sound is like no other."
And Maverick Magazine wrote: "With his trio, Peter Knight breaks new ground and is second to absolutely nobody.
"Ground-breaking, engaging, frequently astonishing, Gigspanner deliver a quite simply superb set."
