The New Pantheon Club (NPC), a collective of Falmouth-based artists, are putting on a live music night at Falmouth Rugby Club on Saturday, April 8, to showcase five bands from the area and introduce them to new audiences.

The NPC hosted the Thrown Gauntlet Festival in January - a mixed arts festival based at Jacob’s Ladder Inn and across houses around the area stretching from all roads between Wellington Terrace and Malborough Terrace.

A variety visual and performance arts were exhibited, including a microscopic camera, poetry salons, live music, experimental film, photography and paintings.

Main organiser Amos Jacob said: “The New Pantheon Club aims to support grass roots, self-sufficient creativity and help emerging artists find a bigger audience.” Over the last year, NPC have held over a dozen nights for new student and local bands in various venues.

The Falmouth Rugby Club gig will kick off national tours for Carrion and Luna Plexus and the concert will be accompanied by projections and experimental films from local artists.

Luna Plexus are a "lunatic rock band" whose sound is reminiscent of the Savages. Carrion create synth rock which has been compared to Chvrches, London Grammar and Bat For Lashes.

SunBruise make a type of "psychedelic shoegazing rock", a style of music in which the instruments blend and blur with the vocals. Cpt.Prang play garage punk, sounding like a cross between Nivana with Sleaford Mods, while Just Friends Being Sensible sound like a drunk Mac Demarco jamming the Beatles in a two-car garage on a Sunday afternoon.

All the artist’s work is available online, on Facebook and soundcould and Tickets will be available via Seetickets.com or New Pantheon Club’s Facebook page. Doors open at 9pm.
