Police Dog Hogan will be bringing their driving country-rock rhythms and Americana vibe to Falmouth when they visit the Princess Pavilion on Thursday, April 27.

The show is part of an extensive tour to showcase the band's new studio album, Wild By The Side Of The Road, which marks a turning point in the band’s recording career.

The collective musical skills of the band have been used to full effect to create an album that delivers on both interpretation and atmosphere, underpinned by lead singer James Studholme’s lyrics based on stories and personal observations.

The band are no strangers to the county; over the years they’ve played to enthusiastic audiences from Boscastle in the north to Penzance in the south – and many places in between.

“We love Cornwall,” said James, “we even have a song about Crackington - it’s called Crackington. We sometimes say it’s an old Cornish folk song, because we’d like it to be, but the first line rather gives it away. We’re excited to be coming to Falmouth to showcase material from our new CD Wild By The Side Of The Road but we’ll also treat our fans to many of our old favourites including plenty from Westward Ho!”

Formed in 2009, the band has evolved over the years into a tight-knit eight-piece unit combining guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, accordion, trumpet, keyboards, bass and drums to create an exuberant fusing of country, pop, folk and rocking bluegrass. They have served their time on the touring scene with more than three hundred live shows under their belts, including appearances at the AMA Awards in Nashville and many UK festivals. They now regularly play to sell-out audiences up and down the country.
