Don’t walk away because it will be alright at Looe beach this summer when Britpop legends Cast take to the stage at this year’s Looe Music Festival.

The band join Lulu, Happy Mondays and The Jesus and Mary Chain in the line-up for the award-winning annual live music event, which takes place from September 29 to October 1.

Cast formed in Liverpool in 1992 and rose to fame during the Britpop era. In 2012 the band returned with the release of Troubled Times, their first studio album in ten years, and have been performing at sold out shows and festivals ever since.

Playing a mixture of new material and classic tracks, Cast will be warming everyone up for a grand finale to remember, before headliners Happy Mondays take to the stage on Sunday evening.

Also announced this week is Cardiff-based rapper Mike Dennis, whose boyhood love of Run DMC, Beastie Boys and Ganstarr led him to create the unique sounds of string hip-hop, a mesmerizing mix of voice, violin and cajon.

Blackpool-boys The Membranes followed their own dark path of punk and DIY ethic influenced rock, and received critical acclaim for their 2016 album Dark Matter / Dark Energy, cementing their return to the stage after a twenty-six year break. Expect a performance that kicks up a storm when lead singer John Robb takes the main stage mic on Saturday.

Seven-piece gypsy folk-rock band Holy Moly & The Crackers join the fun at the Harbour Marquee. Don’t miss them if you love rock, pop, folk, blues, Balkan, klezmer, ska or reggae.

Cornwall-based electronic rock band 50 Year Storm also join the fun on the Sunday. With 90 bands performing across five stages over three days, more performers will be announced weekly throughout April and May.

Day tickets for adults are £40, early bird three day tickets are currently £99 for adults, £30 for under 18s and under-fives go free, and ticket and camping packages are available so festivalgoers can buy access and a accommodation at the same time.
