AFTER a storming gig at Beerwolf Books last month with Lorelle and the Absolute and Deja Vega, local record labels Wrong Way Records and Bad Records are putting on Dublin's finest psychedelic outfit This Other Kingdom.

The showcase gig will again take place at Beerwolf Books in Bells Court on May 17

Consisting of Del Kerton (vocals, keys), Declan Dunne (guitar, vocals) and Git Sweeney (drums), This Other Kingdom offer an intriguing combination of neo-psychedelia enthused with untainted splashes of garage rock.

In 2013, the band released an EP Sunlight, which attracted much attention prior to the release of their debut LP Telescopic to critical acclaim; reaching the top ten in the iTunes and Irish chart.

Since the release of Telescopic the band have gone from strength to strength, securing support slots for some of the best international bands on the scene including Holy Wave, The Cult of Dom Keller, TAU, Radar Men from the Moon and Yuck.

Now, they have just released their new album Rêveur on Wrong Way Records which comes on translucent orange vinyl with purple splatter, CD and download. It is the eighth album to released by bands on Wrong Way Records roster.

Comprised of twelve tracks of rhythmic drumming, vocal harmonies, catchy guitar riffs, keys accompaniment and evocative lyrics the album also calls on Eastern influences.

Wrong Way Records say: "This Other Kingdom are honing and refining their sound with every rotation, mutating into a tour de force and this LP with its luring vocals tones, inspired guitar assonance and charged rhythms is for anyone who likes modern psychedelia, with strong ties to the sounds of the past."

For fans of: The Doors, His Name is Codeine, The Blue Angel Lounge, Asteroid No. 4

Support comes from local band Sunbruise.

The gig is on May 17 at Beerwolf Books. Tickets are £5 from Seetickets at seetickets.com. They can also be bought at Jam records in the High Street or on the door.
