The Eden Sessions will be hosting an afternoon of live music ahead of Van Morrison’s headline show on Saturday, July 1.

Eden’s arena will be open from 3pm, with Paul Brady, Ruarri Joseph - performing as William the Conqueror, Nathan Ball and Kezia on the main stage throughout the afternoon.

Paul Brady, Irish singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, crosses musical boundaries again and again, incorporating folk, rock, blues traditional Irish and classic pop styles into his songwriting, with a catalogue spanning 40 years.

Newquay-based singer-songwriter Ruarri Joseph is known for his supple acoustic finger-picking and deep, warm vocals. Following the release of four studio albums under his own name, Ruarri now performs as William the Conqueror, and his debut album under that name is due out in August.

Acclaimed London singer-songwriter Nathan Ball, who cites Van Morrison as one of his major influences, has an understated, warm style and a distinctive voice reminiscent of George Ezra.

Kezia is a Camborne-based artist with a haunting, powerful voice, who returns to Eden following a residency at last winter’s Festival of Light and Sound. Kezia writes lyric-based songs with simple, thoughtful melodies based around the piano and guitar.

Rita Broe, Eden’s marketing director, said: “Eden will have a real festival feel on July 1, with a whole afternoon and evening of fantastic live music culminating in a headline performance from the legend Van Morrison.

“We’re encouraging people to turn up early, have a drink and something to eat and enjoy what we hope will be a lovely sunny afternoon of music.”

Sir Van Morrison is one of the most revered and decorated musicians of recent times.

He was knighted last year, has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has won six Grammys, a BRIT Award for Outstanding Contribution and the Ivor Novello Award for Lifetime Achievement.

The Eden Sessions enter their sixteenth year in 2017. Last year saw Lionel Richie, Tom Jones, PJ Harvey, Manic Street Preachers and Jess Glynne carry on the great tradition of bringing top UK and international acts to Eden.
