Frenetic Cornish rockers Auction for the Promise Club have announced two headline gigs to launch their forthcoming debut album Silence, which is due on June 9.

The St Agnes three piece will be playing live shows on Friday, June 9, at the Driftwood Spars in St Agnes and Saturday, June 10, at MONO in Falmouth.

The band remained on Cornish turf to record Silence at the remote and atmospheric Airfield studios - a Second World War base.

Silence features a collection of 12 diverse and powerful tracks including This May Hurt, which was dubbed by BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson as “their best yet” and Cut So Close, both of which were released as a special limited edition 7" double A-side red vinyl on Record Store Day last year.

Recent single See Through is an explosive and frenetic rock anthem, showcasing the emotional and rugged dynamics that Auction for the Promise Club channel through their music.

Being championed by BBC Cornwall Introducing, the band has had national radio play on the Radio 1 Huw Stephens' show and BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson as well as support from Rolling Stone, Classic Rock, MTV Hive, XFM and NME Radio.

Last year the band performed alongside the likes of Paolo Nutini, Martha Wainwright, Prides and Reverend and The Makers, and appeared at a number of festivals including Bestival, Boardmasters, The Great Escape, Y Not Festival, Radio 1's Big Weekend Showcase.

Special guests on both shows will be riff based grunge rockers Wolf Note, who will be playing their first shows of 2017 after a six-month hiatus whilst they’ve been writing and recording new material.

Opening the Driftwood Spars show will be bass and drums duo Waxx with their infectious pop infused filth, and the Mono gig will be opened by Buffalo Frame, who mix equal parts Black Sabbath, Wolfmother and The Raconteurs.

Tickets cost £4 in advance or £6 on the door, and can be bought at musicglue.com/auction-for-the-promise-club-2/listings
