Acclaimed Anglo-Americana trio Wildwood Kin from Exeter perform their first headline show with Cornish promoters SW1 Productions on Tuesday, November 7, at Truro’s newest live music venue The Old Bakery.

Comprising of two sisters, Beth and Emillie Key, and their cousin Meghann Loney, the trio formed four years ago while in their mid teens. They borrow heavily from early folk influences, not least in their hypnotic three-part harmonies. Turning Tides, their extraordinary debut album, delves deeply into other genres, featuring both electric and acoustic instruments, and boasts inventive electronics and spectral atmospherics.

In 2015 the girls were shortlisted for a major BBC Radio Music Award and in 2016 their debut single Warrior Daughter spent several weeks on the Radio 2 playlist. Their tracks have notched several million streams on Spotify, and they also feature on every track on Seth Lakeman's 2016 top 20 album Ballads of the Broken Few.

Having just completed a UK wide support tour with Ward Thomas, they have a busy summer of festivals this summer including the Avalon stage at Glastonbury, Cambridge Folk Festival and the Blue Balls festival in Switzerland.

This show will be the first for promoters SW1 in Cornwall’s newest venue The Old Bakery, or Old Bakery Studios, a regenerated former industrial bakery on the river in the heart of Truro, which is an underground maze of concrete and clay with a Shoreditch warehouse vibe, housing an array of businesses from photographers and comedians to a pole dancing studio.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, June 21, and are available from seetickets.com
